I really do not understand what makes a web design work, but I thought I had a great idea for a web site and then I started looking at the practical details. It turns out that what I was thinking about is something which would be totally reliant on one of these things, which they abbreviate CMS. I do not want to give away my idea, but it really seemed like it would be great at first. I thought it would not be that hard to execute until I started looking into how to make a web page which performed the way that I wanted this one to work. It was pretty much a bucket of cold water in the face. That was because I realized that while my idea seemed to be really great, it was also quite difficult to implement and that it would be impossible unless I either learned how to do stuff like this or hired someone who could.

Obviously I can not really share my idea in great detail without either having a great risk of it being stolen or having some lawyer write up a contract which protects. Those are not really good options for me, because like any great idea this one will require a good bit of risk to execute. I have no idea exactly what the project would require, but I think that I would need to hire some person or persons with some really good web site design skills to bring it into reality and they would not be able to just crank this stuff out of nowhere. I would not be of much help to them after I gave up the idea, so I would need the money to finance the project. Either that or I could just sell the idea somehow.

In the Web 2.0 era now, use the web to share, friendship, collaboration becomes something important. Web 2.0 is present as the proliferation of user blogs, Friendster, Myspace, Youtube and Fickr. So here is the social life in the virtual world really feels.

The era of Web 2.0 does not require a genius who just struggling alone in a closed room or laboratory to create a patented new technology in order to make himself famous. But this era is more need of people to share knowledge, experience or other, forming a large online community that eliminate individual traits.

Web Platform is meant here is where an application is run. Famous example is the Windows platform, where there are applications such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Photoshop. Using the Internet as a platform means that these applications run directly on the Internet and not on a particular operating system. An example is Google which can be accessed from any operating system. Another example is Flickr that can also be accessed from any operating system.
Obvious advantages, applications, Web 2.0 is no longer limited to operating systems like Windows. And we do not even need to install anything to use these applications!

Web 2.0 applications have unique properties, which make use of intelligence from many people collectively. As a result came a very large knowledge base of the combined results of the knowledge of many people.

The obvious example is Wikipedia. Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia that allows anyone to create and edit articles. The result is a very large online encyclopedia full article, even more completely than commercial encyclopedias such as Encarta! Another example is del.icio.us where all people are sharing the links they find interesting.

As a result we can find the “gems” in Web browsing combined result of thousands of people. The blogosphere is also an example of collective intelligence because anyone can write a blog of his own and then another link with each other to form a network of knowledge, much like the brain cells are interconnected to each other in our brain.
Strong and Unique Data

The power of Web 2.0 applications lies in the data. Internet applications that work is always backed by a strong data base and unique. An example is Google, whose strength lies in the data collection and management of web pages on the Internet. Another example is the Amazon that has a data book that not only incomplete, but also very rich with things such as reviews, user ratings, links to other books, and so forth.

This means that winning companies are companies that master the data.
